Hilt of My Cross!

Then said Jesus unto his disciples,
If any man will come after me,
let him deny himself,
and take up his cross,
and follow me.
(Matt. 16:24)

Know ye not,
that so many of us
as were baptized into Jesus Christ
were baptized into his death?
(Rom 6:3)

Hilt of the Cross
Chained to my neck.
With no remorse
This life I break.

Hilt of the sword
In my right hand.
From this dark world
I mine defend.

I am crossing out
Temptations and doubt,
And cut devil’s grin
I am here to win.

I bear my cross
For better, for worse
And bury my sin
New life to begin.
